Douglas Macgregor, 8/25/26
"They're Not Telling You What's Coming Next"
"The global economy may be facing a much deeper downturn as financial stress, geopolitical conflict, and instability in the Persian Gulf begin converging at the same time. Colonel Douglas Macgregor argues that if critical infrastructure across the Gulf suffers major damage, rebuilding could take at least a decade turning a regional conflict into a problem with consequences for energy markets, trade, and the wider global economy. Meanwhile, pressure is building in the U.S. Treasury market, adding another layer of financial vulnerability. And the risks aren't limited to Wall Street. On the battlefield, Macgregor points to continued Russian advances in the south and increasing pressure around key Ukrainian positions as signs that the war could be moving toward a decisive stage. He argues that Russia still has significant military resources available, while Ukraine continues to face mounting pressure on its infrastructure and ability to sustain the conflict. The longer that war continues, the greater the economic and physical damage becomes and if that geopolitical pressure collides with already fragile financial markets, the consequences could extend far beyond the battlefield."
