Dan, I Allegedly, "The Food Supply Is Breaking"

"The Food Supply Is Breaking"
"Food prices could be headed significantly higher as a new wave of supply chain problems begins to develop. JPMorgan analysts are warning that global food inflation could reach 5% in early 2027, while farmers and ranchers are already dealing with rising costs for fuel, fertilizer, feed, labor, transportation and equipment. The Strait of Hormuz, Middle East conflict, diesel prices, corn, wheat and shipping disruptions could all create additional pressure on the food supply. What happens when those costs finally reach the grocery store?

Four years ago, I documented the massive supply chain backup off the California coast as container ships sat offshore and businesses struggled to get merchandise. That video went on to nearly 700,000 views. This time, the potential problem is much more serious because we're talking about food. Corn and wheat affect everything from bread, pasta and cereal to animal feed, which can ultimately affect beef, pork, chicken, milk and eggs. Farmers and ranchers are already under pressure, and if transportation, fertilizer, fuel and global shipping become more difficult, the result could be higher prices - or products that become difficult to find. Don't just watch grocery prices. Watch fertilizer, diesel, corn, wheat, cattle, ranchers, trucking, shipping and the Strait of Hormuz. The supply chain warning may be coming before consumers see the full impact at the store."
