Miles Of Lines & Abandoned Checkouts"
"Sam's Club members pay a fee just to walk in the door. Now they scan their own groceries, wait in lines that never move, fight for refunds, and in one Arizona store, there is not a single register left. This video is what members and employees are saying about it, in their own words. A store used to pay someone to take your money. Now more and more of them want you to do that job yourself, for free, and they call it convenience. Self-checkout does not save a company the price of a machine. It saves the price of a person, year after year, and that saving does not show up as a lower price on the shelf. In a membership store it goes one step further: the member pays to get in, and then works the register for free once inside.
