"Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has come out in open support of Gaza militant group Hamas, saying that no one can force his country to call Hamas a terror group. “No one can make us qualify Hamas as a terrorist organization. Turkey is a country that speaks openly with Hamas leaders and firmly backs them,” Erdogan said at an event in Istanbul on March 9. The Turkish President derided Israel, which it calls a “terror state” and its western backers for the war in Gaza that has killed more than 30,500 Palestinians so far."
