"A Primer For The Propagandized: Fear Is The Mind-Killer"

"A Primer For The Propagandized:
Fear Is The Mind-Killer"
by Margaret Anna Alice

“Totalitarianism, if not fought against, could triumph anywhere.”
- George Orwell

"The noose is dangling gently around our necks. Every day, they cinch it tighter. By the time we realize it’s strangling us, it will be too late. Those who – gradually and gleefully – sacrifice their freedoms, their autonomy, their individuality, their livelihoods, and their relationships on the altar of the “common good” have forgotten this is the pattern followed by every totalitarian regime in history.

Everyone wonders how ordinary Germans could have been manipulated to participate or stand dumbstruck while their government was transformed into a genocidal juggernaut. This is how. Read Sebastian Haffner’"Defying Hitler" memoir to see how this can happen anywhere - including here.

Everyone wonders how Russians could have permitted and even zealously reported fellow citizens for imprisonment and execution under "Article 58", the penal code invented to incarcerate anyone who dared express the slightest whisper of noncompliance under Stalin’s homicidal state. This is how. Read Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s meticulously documented "The Gulag Archipelago" to witness this progression of authoritarian lunacy.

Everyone wonders how Hutus could have suddenly started axing their Tutsi neighbors to death after being inundated with waves of anti-Tutsi propaganda from "Radio Télévision Libre des Mille Collines." Read Philip Gourevitch’"We Wish to Inform You That Tomorrow We Will Be Killed with Our Families: Stories from Rwanda."

The list goes on. And on. And on. From Machiavelli’"The Prince" to Étienne de la Boetie’s "The Politics of Obedience: The Discourse of Voluntary Servitude" to Edward Herman’s and Noam Chomsky’s "Manufacturing Consent" (and accompanying documentary) to BBC’s "The Century of the Self," mechanisms of mass control have been chronicled for millennia.

George Orwell wrote, "As far as the mass of the people go, the extraordinary swings of opinion which occur nowadays, the emotions which can be turned on and off like a tap, are the result of newspaper and radio hypnosis.”

Can you imagine what master propagandist Edward Bernays would have done with access to today’s mainstream media conglomerate combined with the global surveillance infrastructure of Big Tech? And you really think that’s not happening now - with another century of psychological, neurological, and technological research under their belts?

The present ability to curate reality and coerce obedience is unprecedented, far beyond what Orwell envisioned in "1984", Bradbury in "Fahrenheit 451", Huxley in "Brave New World," and Burgess in "A Clockwork Orange."

A textbook example of "Problem Reaction Solution", the tsunami of worldwide Covid hysteria was the latest and potentially most threatening example of mass control in history. The recipe is simple. Take a naturally occurring phenomenon, say a seasonal virus, and exaggerate its threat far beyond every imagining - despite exhaustive evidence to the contrary. Suppress, silence, ostracize, and demonize every individual who dares present facts that expose the false mono-narrative.

Whip up a witches’ brew of anger, envy, and, most importantly, fear, escalating emotions to a boil so as to short-circuit our faculties of reason and logic. Isolate us from one another, supplant real-world interactions with virtual feuds, label nonconformists as a threat to the group, and pump the public with a disinformation campaign designed to confuse and atomize. In essence, foster a cultlike mentality that shuts down thought to guarantee assent.

Cultivate and wield our cognitive biases - especially ingroup biasconformity bias, and authority bias - against us in a comprehensive divide-and-conquer policy that keeps us too busy squabbling amongst each other to recognize and unite against those corralling us into a Matrix-like collective delusion that enables the powerful to extract our resources for their own gain.

This ideological mass psychosis is religion - not science. If this were about science, the Media–Pharmaceutical–Big-Tech complex would not be memory-holing every dissenting voice, vilifying every thought criminal, and censoring every legitimate inquiry in quest of the truth.

Mark Twain said, “It’s easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.” He also said: “In religion and politics people’s beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing.”

The next time you’re watching the news, reading a social media post, listening to a friend repeat a scripted talking point, pay attention. Learn to identify the earmarks of propaganda, the clickbait used to trigger your emotions, the mechanisms employed to engineer your cognitive biases.

Don’t let your pride prevent you from seeing - and admitting - the Emperor is naked. We are losing our last sliver of opportunity to resist authoritarianism. This is not a partisan issue. Those who wish to control us have made it such because disunited lemmings are easier to steer than independent, critical thinkers.

This is a human issue. This is about crushing the middle class - the backbone of a democratic republic - and transferring trillions from the middle and lower classes to the ruling plutocracy. This is about demolishing the foundations of a free society and building it back - not better, but better-controlled.

I will close by recommending a series of illuminating videos on menticide (“the systematic effort to undermine and destroy a person’s values and beliefs … to induce radically different ideas”) throughout history by "Academy of Ideas." This analysis of mass psychosis is nonpartisan and of value to every thinking human being.

"Dare to question. Dare to disbelieve.
Dare to defy ideology in favor of science while you still can."

"The chart below is a fascinating snapshot of the last 75 years in the demise of the American empire. There are currently 164 million people employed in America. About 34 million of those are employed part-time. When you understand the working age population is 275 million and your friendly number fudgers at the BLS declare 103 million of them NOT IN THE LABOR FORCE, and hysterically declaring only 7.8 million Americans are unemployed, you understand what a fraudulent economy we have. The reported 4.6% unemployment rate is complete and utter bullshit. In reality, it is north of 20%. Welcome to the golden age.
What jumps off the chart to me is: The percentage of total jobs in the Education and Health Services sector has grown from 4.8% in 1950 to 17.8% today. Wow!! We must be the smartest, healthiest nation on earth. Not quite. With 28 million teachers, doctors, nurses, and mostly administrators (aka overhead), our education system matriculates millions of barely functional idiots into society every year. Meanwhile, as a country, we are sickly, fat, lazy, dependent upon Big Pharma drugs, and spend more on healthcare than any country on earth. To quote the immortal Dean Wormer, “Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life, son.”

Proof we have become a non-productive, debt dependent, government dependent, shadow of our former industrial powerhouse is the decline in the percentage of manufacturing jobs from 30.2% in 1950 to 8.0% today. We borrow and consume, when we used to invest and build. Trump can threaten, tariff the world, and make bullshit announcements about manufacturing jobs coming back, but they are not coming back. Any new manufacturing plants will be operated by robotics.

Even though the percentage of government employees (aka parasites) has remained relatively steady since 1950, we are stuck with 24 million blood suckers who contribute nothing to the country’s productivity. The average working schmuck has to pay outrageously high taxes to pay the bloated salaries and pensions of these government freeloaders.

And now some bad news for the formerly well paid workers in the Professional & Business Services sector, which had grown from 6.6% of total jobs in 1950 to 14.1% today. ChatGPT and the avalanche of AI tools are eliminating jobs in these sectors at hyperbolic speed. These are the same assholes who used to tell blue collar workers to “learn to code”. Well, now the plumbers, electricians, and construction workers can recommend they learn to be fry cooks at McDonalds, but too late, robots are taking those jobs.

The relatively stable employment situation over the last few years has been the only thing keeping this ship of fools from sinking. But, the increase in the fraudulent unemployment rate from 4.0% when Trump took office to 4.6% today shows the ship is taking on water and it won’t be long before millions are drowning under the waves of debt, delusion, and dumb decisions."

"Scientists Sound The Alarm About 3 Major Fault Zones In The United States"

"Scientists Sound The Alarm About
3 Major Fault Zones In The United States"
by Michael Snyder

"Will 2026 be a year of great shaking for the United States? Coming into 2025, I thought that seismic activity would be a major global theme, and that has certainly turned out to be the case. This has been an extremely unusual year for earthquakes along the Pacific Ring of Fire, and volcanoes that have been dormant for ages are suddenly roaring to life all over the world. Here in the United States, we have been experiencing lots and lots of little earthquakes, but thankfully we have not been hit by a really bad one yet. Will our luck run out in 2026?

According to the Daily Mail, the dozens of earthquakes that have been rattling the New Madrid fault zone since the middle of November are “renewing fears of a catastrophic natural disaster soon”…"A giant seismic zone in the heart of the US has seen dozens of tiny earthquakes break out in the last month, renewing fears of a catastrophic natural disaster soon. Since mid-November, the US Geological Survey (USGS) has detected at least 38 low-level seismic events along the boundaries of the New Madrid Seismic Zone (NMSZ) in Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri, and Tennessee."

The threat that the New Madrid fault zone poses should not be underestimated. In a previous article, I discussed the series of catastrophic earthquakes that occurred along that fault zone in 1811 and 1812. Everyone agrees that they were the most powerful earthquakes in the entire history of the continental United States…"The New Madrid earthquakes were the biggest earthquakes in American history. They occurred in the central Mississippi Valley, but were felt as far away as New York City, Boston, Montreal, and Washington D.C. President James Madison and his wife Dolly felt them in the White House. Church bells rang in Boston. From December 16, 1811 through March of 1812 there were over 2,000 earthquakes in the central Midwest, and between 6,000-10,000 earthquakes in the Bootheel of Missouri where New Madrid is located near the junction of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.

In the known history of the world, no other earthquakes have lasted so long or produced so much evidence of damage as the New Madrid earthquakes. Three of the earthquakes are on the list of America’s top earthquakes: the first one on December 16, 1811, a magnitude of 8.1 on the Richter scale; the second on January 23, 1812, at 7.8; and the third on February 7, 1812, at as much as 8.8 magnitude."

Scientists tell us that it is just a matter of time before another great earthquake strikes this region. Six years ago, the USGS determined that a magnitude 7.7 quake would shake major cities all over the Midwest…"In 2019, USGS scientists modeled what a 7.7 magnitude earthquake would look like if it erupted along the Arkansas-Tennessee border, in an area near Memphis. The shockwaves of this hypothetical mega quake spread for hundreds of miles, reaching cities including Kansas City, Indianapolis, Louisville, and Birmingham."

Buildings in that area of the country are typically not constructed to withstand an event of that size, and so the USGS is projecting that hundreds of thousands of buildings would be damaged and the economic damage would run into the hundreds of billions of dollars…"Since this region is not well equipped to deal with a massive seismic event, studies of such an earthquake projected that a magnitude 7.7 earthquake would cause over 86,000 injuries or deaths, damage 715,000 buildings, and knock out power to 2.6 million homes. That report, by the University of Illinois, Virginia Tech, and George Washington University, also estimated that the cost could hit $300 billion directly, with indirect costs due to lost jobs possibly taking the damage to $600 billion."

An earthquake like that could hit us at any time. But when the “really Big One” finally arrives, it will be much, much worse than the USGS is anticipating. Experts are also urging us to keep an eye on the Cascadia Subduction Zone. We are being told that when it finally goes, “the Pacific Northwest could change in a matter of minutes”…"Beneath Cascadia’s forests and coastlines lies a 600-mile fault capable of producing a magnitude-9 earthquake. The last one struck in 1700, shaking the region for minutes and sending a massive tsunami all the way to Japan. Today, nearly 17 million people live on top of the same silent threat. Scientists warn that when it breaks again, the Pacific Northwest could change in a matter of minutes."

The reason why the Cascadia Subduction Zone is so dangerous is because it has the potential to produce “megathrust” earthquakes…"At depths shallower than around 30 km, the two plates of the CSZ are locked together by friction. Strain (deformation) slowly builds as the subduction forces continue to act upon the locked plates. Once the fault’s frictional strength is exceeded, the rocks slip past each other along the fault in a “megathrust” earthquake." A large enough “megathrust” earthquake could cause a tsunami that is hundreds of feet high to violently slam into the west coast. In such a scenario, the death toll would likely be cataclysmic.

So that is why any seismic activity in the region gets so much attention. On Monday, a magnitude 2.9 earthquake not too far away from Seattle caused quite a stir…"Reports of a massive explosion in Washington state sent residents in the Pacific Northwest into a state of confusion Monday morning. The US Geological Survey (USGS) sent out an alert just before 11.30am ET, warning that an explosion with the force of a magnitude 3.0 earthquake has just taken place near the town of Concrete. USGS quickly retracted the false explosion warning and reclassified the seismic event as a magnitude 2.9 earthquake, less than 70 miles north of Seattle."

Scientists assure us that a “megathrust” earthquake along the Cascadia Subduction Zone is in our future. And when it finally occurs, it could also trigger the San Andreas fault system… "Successfully predicting earthquakes sounds like a dark art. However, new research hints it may be possible: Sediment cores extracted from the Pacific seafloor suggest that two major fault systems along the western coast of the United States and Canada might be partially synchronized. After an earthquake on the southern part of the Cascadia subduction zone, an earthquake soon after on the northern part of the San Andreas fault appears to occur roughly half of the time, the new findings reveal. These results, published in Geosphere, provide evidence of stress triggering, which has long been invoked to explain how activity on one fault might lead to activity on another nearby."

Fault zones persist across wide swaths of our planet, but the one that stretches onshore and offshore from California to British Columbia, Canada, is particularly complex. The vertical strike-slip San Andreas fault, in the south, intersects the Cascadia subduction zone off the coast of Northern California at a point known as the Mendocino Triple Junction. When the San Andreas fault system finally rips wide open, the geography of the state of California will be permanently altered.

And it won’t just be Southern California that is affected. Over the past couple of months, Northern California has been getting pummeled by literally hundreds of sizable quakes…"While California ranks second in the US in seismic activity, most quakes are small and go largely unnoticed. That has changed in recent weeks with two swarms impacting the Bay Area: one is east of San Francisco near San Ramon; the other is north of San Francisco near The Geysers.

Over the last 30 days, USGS has reported 1,470 earthquakes around The Geysers; in just the last 7 days, there have been 286. Most of these have been weak, with only 5 earthquakes rated a magnitude 2.0 or higher intensity over the last week. While the volume has been eyebrow raising, the intensity hasn’t. The opposite has been the case near San Ramon. There, over the last 30 days, there have been 139 earthquakes reported by USGS; over the last 7 days, that number has been 25. But the intensity of these earthquakes have been greater, with 39 rated magnitude 2.0 or greater and 6 rated 3.0 or greater over the last 30 days."

This is definitely not normal. San Ramon has been getting shaken so frequently that one social media user has compared it to “a massage chair”…“Wee bit nervous,” one person wrote on Threads, adding that she planned to stock up on water and earthquake supplies. "San Ramon is basically a massage chair today … but like, the stressful kind,” another person wrote on the social media site. “Dear Earth: we get it, you’re active. You can stop now.”

The Calaveras Fault is a major branch of the San Andreas fault system. This is the fault that has been causing so much shaking in San Ramon lately, and it has the potential to produce very large earthquakes…"Historically, the southern half of the central segment of the Calaveras Fault has been the most seismically active segment of the fault. It produced the 6.2 Morgan Hill earthquake in 1984. The 5.9 Coyote Lake earthquake in 1979 ruptured slightly to the south of these other earthquakes."

When you are driving your vehicle and one of those little warning signals on the dashboard lights up, what do you do? Hopefully you take it to a mechanic or you fix it yourself. Ignoring a warning signal like that is a really bad idea. Similarly, the New Madrid fault zone, the Cascadia Subduction Zone and the San Andreas fault system have all been sending us lots of warning signals lately. Sadly, it appears that most of the population will continue to ignore those warning signals until it is too late."

A now famous picture from the Hubble Space Telescope featured Pillars of Creation, star forming columns of cold gas and dust light-years long inside M16, the Eagle Nebula. This false-color composite image views the nearby stellar nursery using data from the Herschel Space Observatory's panoramic exploration of interstellar clouds along the plane of our Milky Way galaxy. Herschel's far infrared detectors record the emission from the region's cold dust directly.
The famous pillars are included near the center of the scene. While the central group of hot young stars is not apparent at these infrared wavelengths, the stars' radiation and winds carve the shapes within the interstellar clouds. Scattered white spots are denser knots of gas and dust, clumps of material collapsing to form new stars. The Eagle Nebula is some 6,500 light-years distant, an easy target for binoculars or small telescopes in a nebula rich part of the sky toward the split constellation Serpens Cauda (the tail of the snake).”

“The 11 Nations Of The United States”

“The 11 Nations Of The United States”
by Andy Kiersz and Marguerite Ward

Excerpt: “The map above shows how the US really has 11 separate ‘nations’ with entirely different cultures. Author and journalist Colin Woodard identified 11 distinct cultures that have historically divided the US. His book American Nations: A History of the Eleven Rival Regional Cultures in North America” breaks down those cultures and the regions they each dominate. From the utopian “Yankeedom” to the conservative “Greater Appalachia” and liberal “Left Coast,” looking at these cultures sheds an interesting light on America’s political and cultural divides.

"It's Just...Life"

“Bad things don’t happen to people because they deserve for them to happen. It just doesn’t work that way. It’s just… life. And no matter who we are, we have to take the hand we’re dealt, crappy though it may be, and try our very best to move forward anyway, to love anyway, to have hope anyway… to have faith that there’s a purpose to the journey we’re on.”
- Mia Sheridan

The Poet: May Sarton, “Now I Become Myself”

“Now I Become Myself”

“Now I become myself. It’s taken
Time, many years and places,
I have been dissolved and shaken,
Worn other people’s faces,
Run madly, as if Time were there,
Terribly old, crying a warning,
“Hurry, you will be dead before —”
(What? Before you reach the morning?
or the end of the poem, is clear?
Or love safe in the walled city?)
Now to stand still, to be here,
Feel my own weight and density!
Now there is time and Time is young.
O, in this single hour I live
All of myself and do not move,
I, the pursued, who madly ran,
Stand still, stand still, and stop the Sun!”

"They Want More..."

"When people pile up debts they will find difficult and perhaps even impossible to repay, they are saying several things at once. They are obviously saying that they want more than they can immediately afford. They are saying, less obviously, that their present wants are so important that, to satisfy them, it is worth some future difficulty. But in making that bargain they are implying that when the future difficulty arrives, they’ll figure it out. They don’t always do that.”

"The Ukraine Border Myth: How a Manufactured Crisis Threatens America" (Excerpt)

"The Ukraine Border Myth:
How a Manufactured Crisis Threatens America"
by Davis Stockman

Excerpt: "Here we go again. The Donald recently offered a constructive 28-point plan that implicitly and correctly identified America’s Homeland Security interest in Ukraine as nichts, nada, nugatory and nyet. Yet before the ink was dry the Washington neocon brigade that he foolishly invited back into his government to sabotage it for the second time, did exactly that. This time they pulled the guts right out of the Trump Peace Plan for Ukraine, and did so in plain sight.

To wit, the only thing that really mattered in the original gussied-up word salad of 28-points was that - Ukraine would be partitioned roughly along the lines of the pre-1918 Novorussiya province of the Russian Empire, meaning that mainly Russian-speaking Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk and the major parts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia would be allowed to secede from the tyrannical, corruption-ridden, Nazi-tainted, anti-Russian Kiev regime.

The resulting rump of Ukraine would forswear now and forevermore any interest in joining NATO. That is, eschew any possibility of functioning as a Cuba on Moscow’s borders just like Khrushchev foolishly attempted with JFK way back in October 1962.

Neither of these so-called “concessions” to Putin would harm America’s true homeland security by a whit because Russia with a $2 trillion GDP based on oil, grains and metals is no threat whatsoever to America’s $30 trillion high-tech economy. Nor would they have adversely impacted the so-called “rules-based international order”. After all, the latter is but a beard for the Washington-based Warfare State and global empire, which is already bankrupting America and which remains utterly unnecessary for the maintenance of what’s left of its liberty, democracy and capitalist prosperity.

In short, the Donald was - knowingly or otherwise - fixing to make like the long-ago Senator from Vermont, George Aiken. The latter correctly and famously told LBJ the way to get out of the Vietnam morass was to “declare victory and go home”.

That’s essentially what Trump’s 28-point plan did. It amounted to packing up and going home just like in the case of that comparable 60-years ago folly that had no bearing on America’s security, either.

But apparently to quell the War Party uproar over the plan’s correct rebuke to the $300 billion financial and human catastrophe that the Washington War Party and its NATO footmen have visited upon the ashes of the Ukrainian steppes, the Donald unaccountably sent Little Marco Rubio to Geneva last weekend. His remit was to negotiate an acceptance of Trump’s 28-point plan by the crooks, sadists and war criminals who conduct the Ukrainian version of Mafia rule in their woebegone nation. But what Rubio actually did was connive with the thieves and brigands who (temporarily) rule in Kiev to essentially disembowel Trump’s plan by dropping the aforementioned provisions, which were the only thing that really mattered to the Russians.

Still, Rubio’s treachery in plain sight should not have been a surprise to anyone who has actually paid attention (viz, not the Donald) to Washington’s machination during recent decades. After all, sending the fox into the hen house to gather the eggs is a hardly an adequate metaphor for what happened in Geneva.

To wit, Rubio was, is and always will be the enemy of America First because he is an inveterate neocon interventionist. After having hung around the Deep Swamp most of his adult life, he has no clue that the entire machinery of the Washington-based Warfare State is about selling arms and conducting live-action military exercises abroad against anyone who fails to cow-tow to the dictates of the war-makers on the Potomac and their auxiliaries and proconsuls scattered around the planet.

In this case, Rubio has functioned as the veritable hand-maid of the pathetic Euro-politicians who endlessly talk gibberish and urge Washington to keep footing the butchers’ bill. For instance, here is the reprehensible Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, former German defense minister and full-throated war-hawk, recently talking absolute nonsense about what isn’t at stake in Ukraine:

Russian President Vladimir Putin wants to see empires and autocracies back in Europe, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen told the European Economic Congress in Katowice. Speaking alongside Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, von der Leyen insisted that she stands for a European Union that is ready to do whatever it takes to protect Europe, and especially Ukraine. “Putin’s war is about redrawing the map of Europe, but it is also a war on our Union and on the entire global rules-based system,” she said.

Well, that’s rubbish if there ever was such. The only time the borders of Ukraine have been unjustly redrawn at the point of a gun barrel was when Lenin, Stalin and Khrushchev did so between 1922 and 1954. That’s right, this EU half-wit still wants to embroil the world in WWIII in order to enforce borders drawn by a trio of history’s most blood-thirsty tyrants.

As explained below, there never was a country even remotely resembling modern Ukraine until the Soviet communists decreed its existence. Before that, the pieces and parts of the country’s history go back to the 1650s when one of the more powerful and brutal rulers of the Cossack Hetmanate, which occupied a small part of today’s central Ukraine, abandoned his tribe’s historic fealty to the Polish kings and switched his loyalty to the Russians. After that, the “borderlands” (i.e.”Ukraine” in Russian) were all about vassalage in the Russian Empire and the Soviet one which followed.

During the past centuries, in fact, the borders in that region shifted all over the lot and back, as the Mongol, Turkish and Polish-Lithuanian empires arrived and receded, even as the Russian and communist ones in the end expanded. So what’s so sacrosanct about the very last version of the map - one that hosted both the murderous regime of Stalin and Hitler’s Wehrmacht, too?

Indeed, Europe is rife with borders drawn, redrawn and redrawn again. While von der Leyen was in Poland preaching for border wars in Ukraine, in fact, it might well be asked, which sacrosanct borders of her host country did she have in mind?

After all, for 700 years “Poland” has cavorted around the rivers, plains, mountains and forests of central Europe like a traveling minstrel show. This includes its disappearance entirely at the hands of the Prussians, Russians, Hapsburgs and other lesser powers during the later years of the 18th century and the entirety of the 19th century. Only in 1919 was it resurrected as an intact nation - in part upon German lands seconded to it at Versailles. And that utterly foolish planking for German revanchism, Hitler and WWII happened for the not so noble reason of American electioneering.

That is to say, US President Woodrow Wilson, who was the Grand Poobah at Versailles, was keen on pleasing the millions of voters among the fair part of the Polish nation which had migrated to Chicago, Cleveland, Gary and elsewhere in the industrial Midwest. So he insisted that the long gone nation of their Old World kin be resurrected, and with ample geographic aspect, too.

At length, of course, Hitler and Stalin redrew Poland’s borders yet again under the infamous Molotov-Ribbentrop pact of 1938, cancelling Wilson handwork and returning the German-populated Danzig Corridor to its previous owner. And then, seven years later, Poland’s borders were redrawn still another time by a new set of victors, who realigned the borders of “Poland” at the Yalta Conference in a way that satisfied Stalin’s aim to recover eastern lands the Soviets lost in the post-1918 civil war.

So all along during the course of the misbegotten NATO expansion and Ukraine intervention adventure, someone should have told the Washington and NATO warmongers to take a long jump off a short pier. That is to say not only how the latest borders of “Poland” were drawn, but how over the last several centuries of history most of Europe’s present borders came to be. They were not drawn by God’s deputies on earth or even the statesman of the day– - but by the victors of the most recent wars. And in the case of “Ukraine” it is even worse than that, as we amplify below.

Moreover, even a glance at today’s map reminds that the border-drawing work of victorious generals and politicians, and occasionally statesman, has always been subject to revision without necessarily making a war about it. And that kind of revisionist work - negotiation of a Ukrainian partition - is exactly what Trump had now offered to Putin - only to see it kicked to the curb by the perfidious former Senator from Florida.

Still, if the Donald is to rescue his Nobel Peace Prize he might well take inspiration from the several major European boundary adjustments of recent times, which remind us that the shibboleth of sacrosanct borders has no roots in actual history. Thus, the statesman at Versailles decreed the existence of Czechoslovakia in 1919 as a potpourri of nations including a lot of Slovaks, Czechs, Hungarians, Romani people, Silesians, Ruthenians, Ukrainians, Poles, Jews and most especially millions of Germans."

Bill Bonner, "The Underlying Malady"

Hippocrates (Primum, non noncere)
"The Underlying Malady"
by Bill Bonner
Baltimore, Maryland - "All we have to go on is the past. The future hasn’t happened yet. So, all we can do is to try to match up what we know from the past with the patterns of today. One of the outlier patterns we’ve been looking out this week is ‘democracy.’ The headlines tell us it is in danger.

Reuters: "Americans worry democracy in danger amid gerrymandering fights, Reuters/Ipsos poll finds."

Demos.org: "Molly, You in Danger, Girl"

Chicago Tribune: "Pete Buttigieg says democracy is ‘in danger’ as Republicans consider mid-census redistricting."

But for all the caterwauling and moaning...America was never meant to be a democracy...and a democracy is not a stable form of government anyhow. As soon as the foxes figure out how to vote themselves a rack of lamb for dinner, the sheep are doomed. A ‘republic’ seems to be transitory too. France has had five of them since 1789...each one reached for perfection, followed by a clumsy flop. No matter what you call it, the elite and their jefes do what they can to 1) shift more and more wealth power to themselves...and 2) keep the masses happy with lies, loaves, and sentimental diversions. How else to explain the latest ‘war’ with Venezuela?

And here’s another one. Newsweek: "Donald Trump’s “Warrior Dividend” checks will cost more than $2.5 billion. President Donald Trump has announced that he plans to issue $1,776 checks to U.S. military service members."

Of course, it is no ‘dividend.’ There is no income source from which to take real earnings. It will be just more money borrowed and spent to secure the support of the lumpenproletariat. Much has been written about this process. The feds spend too much. Then, they go broke.

But the money itself rarely draws the attention it deserves. Almost all instances of imperial decline are accompanied by monetary decline, manifesting itself as inflation, corruption, and/or bankruptcy. But the real process - the underlying malady - is profound and mostly invisible.

Real money keeps people honest and keeps them free. Because it honestly ciphers the crucial relationships...between a pound of ham and a pound of butter...between an hour of work and an hour’s pay...between capitalist and laborer...between creditor and debtor. Without real money, and free markets, you have no way of knowing where you stand…and whether you are going or coming.

Each person’s private calculation - about whether to buy beans or meat...whether to hire someone or do the work himself...whether to be a borrower or a lender depends on a true measure. Neither high. Nor low. Just honest. Proverbs: "Differing weights are detestable to the LORD, and dishonest scales are unfair."

America had real money for nearly 200 years. Gold-backed money. And consumer prices were more or less stable. In those first 2 centuries, the US grew to be the most powerful country on earth. And its government accumulated a total of $4 trillion in debt. Over the following 54 years, it added 8 times as much debt, with another $1 trillion added in the last two and a half months.

The new, post-1971 money, conjured up by the Nixon Administration, and welcomed by almost all economists of the time, was essentially dishonest. The stock market, for example, gradually failed to measure the real worth of America’s leading companies. Investors stopped trying to calculate the value of each company’s expected earnings discounted by a genuine interest rate. How could they; they didn’t know what the real interest rate was? Instead, they began wasting capital by gambling on the Fed’s interest rate policies....on political moves...and leveraged speculations on memes, tokens, and cryptos.

And by artificially making more credit available, the Fed skewed the entire economy and everyone in it. It tilted people away from saving...and towards borrowing. The two are very different. A saver looks ahead, to his earnings. He is naturally ‘conservative,’ master of himself, and eager to protect what he has earned. But a borrower, deep in debt, is a slave to the credit industry. He depends on the government to keep interest rates low and fears the future…when he will have to pay up. As he accumulates more debt, he becomes more desperate. Soon, he has no real wealth...but only monthly credit obligations, expressed in shifting terms.

And then what kind of government does he really have...a democracy? A republic? Forget about it. He is gripped by a system he can neither understand nor control. He may go through the motions of self-government, but he is ruled; he is not the ruler."

"2025 In Review: The Wilder Way"

"2025 In Review: The Wilder Way"
by John Wilder

"As an annual feature of Wilder, Wealthy and Wise, we poll our writers and editors and ask them to nominate the top stories of the year. Since they are just me, it’s a far less complex process than you might imagine. Here are the top stories of 2025:

January 2025:
• Donald Trump is inaugurated as the 47th U.S. President. Trump immediately issues executive orders on immigration, trade, and withdrawing from international agreements like the Paris Accord. Alexandria Occasional-Cortex protests, “I didn’t even know the French could pronounce ‘Honda®’, I mean, wouldn’t it sound like ‘Onda? So we should let them have an Accord®. It’s a sensible car.”
• Wildfires ravage Greater Los Angeles, destroying over 13,000 structures, prompting evacuations and a state of emergency. Governor Gavin “Reptile Smile” Newsom declares homeowners may rebuild that the land will be confiscated and given to people that buy him nice things.
• Bulgaria and Romania join the Schengen Area, lifting land border controls in Europe. Bulgaria is still awaiting its first visitor and has the crepe paper decorations and everything along with party poppers and a 10% discount coupon to Bob’s Bulgarian Borscht, Baguette and Baklava Buffet®.
• Liechtenstein legalizes same-sex marriage, becoming the 37th country to do so, and demands to be known as Gay Liechtenstein.

February 2025:
• Trump imposes 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico, and 10% on China, sparking retaliatory measures and trade tensions. Trump then immediately lowers them, noting, “I shot the tariff, but I did not shoot the subsidy.”
• China retaliates with export controls and tariffs on U.S. imports amid escalating trade war, threatening to send more TEMU® products and advertisements if the U.S. does not relent.
• Canada wins the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off hockey tournament against the U.S. Nic Cage and John Travolta are unavailable for comment.
• The Taliban visit Japan for first diplomatic engagement since 2021 as the Japanese noted they were no longer talibanned.

March 2025:
• Trump pauses U.S. military aid to Ukraine after tensions with Zelensky when Zelensky wouldn’t eat his peas at dinner.
• Romanian protests erupt against election annulment, supporting the far-right one candidate who doesn’t Romanians replaced by Syrians.
• The Nagoya High Court in Japan rules non-recognition of same-sex marriage unconstitutional, primarily because of military pressure from Gay Liechtenstein.
• Trump increases tariffs on Chinese imports to 20%. Or 60%. Or 200%. Can’t keep track.
India launches missiles into Pakistan after a terrorist attack, escalating border tensions over regional fights against body hygiene, deodorant requirements, and who had first scamming rights over Oregon.

April 2025:
• Trump imposes sweeping tariffs on imports from multiple countries, escalating global trade wars. Or lowers them. Or maybe doesn’t change anything at all. I can’t remember.
• Pope Francis dies at 88 after mentioning he had inside information about Clinton crimes.
• China increases tariffs on U.S. exports to 84% in retaliation. Or lowers them.
• South Korean President Win Won Soon impeached and removed and sent to Alabama to coach football.

May 2025:
• Robert Prevost elected as Pope Leo XIV in the papal conclave, narrowly edging out Grammy®-nominated artist Taylor Swift.

• Japan allows bears in urban areas to be shot by hunters, as long as the bears are not gay, though the hunters can be gay and are encouraged to be vegan.

June 2025:
• Protests erupt in Los Angeles over ICE deportations, leading to clashes and National Guard deployment and threats of military intervention from the Grand Gay Dutchy of Gay Liechtenstein.
• The U.S. intervenes in the Israel-Iran conflict by bombing Iranian nuclear facilities, which is less an intervention and more of a bombing.
• No Kings protests occur across U.S., Canada, Europe, Japan, and Mexico against Stephen King, Larry King, King’s Hawaiian Rolls® and King Kong™.
• An Air India© flight crashes in Ahmedabad, killing 242, proving that Indians can manage to kill more Indians than Pakistan can. Prime Minister Modi proclaims: “India Global Superpower 2030!”

July 2025:
• Republicans pass sweeping tax changes through reconciliation in U.S. Congress. No one is sure what is in them but the lobbyists say that it’ll be great.

White Americans immediately sue the descendants of black slaves for greenhouse reparations, noting that if they really were the ones who built America, it’s time for them to pay up.

August 2025:
• OpenAI® releases GPT-5™. Sam Altman celebrates by sacrificing a small child, but the evil god he worships rejects it because, “It’s not really a sacrifice because he does it every Tuesday.”
• The Russia-U.S. summit at Joint Base Elmendorf in Anchorage focused on the Ukraine conflict, got nothing done, but did have a nice burger and a promise to meet up again “in a week or two, you know, I’ve got a lot of stuff going on”.
• Air Canada© flight attendants strike to ban requiring stewardesses to serve in-flight beverage service to Indians hanging on the wings.

• Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg abdicates as the Gay Grand Gay Dutchy of Gay Liechtenstein attacks and begins to consolidate a European Homohegemony.

Why did Bing® A.I.® put Manson in the picture?

November 2025:
• Canada’s measles-free status revoked. Which is weird, because they had been measles-free since 1998. Wonder how that could have happened? No reason at all, I guess. Odd coincidence that some of the highest measles rates in the world are in India.
• The Saskatchewan Roughriders win the Grey Cup. Whoever and wherever they are, and whatever that it.

• Thieves steal priceless jewelry from the Louvre in France, but after they’re caught and determined to be moslem, are then given a key so they can loot whenever they want.

What a year! What did I miss?"

“Leftists are evil scum who castrate children and invite
Mexican rapists into the USA to peddle fent to your kids.”
- Aimee Terese on “X”

"The frantic ceremonies of Christmas shopping climax now... the stockings are hung by the chimney with care... and the republic judders into the darkest season of an evil era. You fear the one gift you have waited for lo these twelve months will not be delivered: the frog-marching of Brennan, Clapper, Comey, Strzok, HRC, Mayorkas, Monaco, Rosenstein, Priestap, Halper, Yates, Lynch, Garland, Wray, Haynes, Sullivan, Schiff, Warner, Eisen, Elias, Weissmann, Jack Smith... and many other deep state treason-goblins into the maw of a federal courthouse for processing like so many mackerel in a cat food cannery. “No arrests!” is the melancholy cry heard from sea to shining sea.

It’s true. A whole year ticked by and no accountability for the immense decade-long free-ranging crime-spree against our country by so many government officials. Did I leave out Mr. Obama? Yes. He would probably have to dangle as an “unindicted co-conspirator,” cuz president, and all. But maybe not. It’s open to interpretation, I grant you....assuming anyone in the Trump DOJ could actually get serious and move a folder off his/her desk. Anyway, Christmas is upon us and the MAGA minions sulk in despair. No arrests!

And no Epstein files for you either, Tiny Tim, after all this hassling, haggling, screwing-around, trash-talk, innuendo, duplicity, dissimulation, and subterfuge. What is in there, do you suppose, that the country couldn’t take? Photos of Bill Clinton riding Ghislaine Maxwell like a bucking bronco? Larry Summers naked as a manatee in the shallow end of the Little St. James pool? Tom Hanks chowing down on a roasted human heart? You see: that’s where the mind goes when the truth is withheld.

Anyway, Dan Bongino, good old Danny Boombatz, has left the building, visibly sadder but wiser. He is - no sarc here - a first-class American patriot. Do not doubt that. He surely took the job as Deputy Director of the FBI because the president importuned him to do so, and how can you say no when a president calls? Yet, something happened to him in FBI HQ, some dark passage into altered consciousness, and now he is out.

It’s pretty obvious that he missed his wife and children, and his former life in Florida, and his days on the mic in his studio... and that he had to suffer being quartered on some dreary DC military base for his safety the whole time he served the FBI. I suppose he accomplished quite a bit of a routine, plodding, law enforcement nature - catching bad guys and such all year. But, and it’s a big but... he was not able to effectuate the rounding-up of the aforementioned deep state villains we all know about - and hardly anyone knew more about that gang than Danny B - and it must have really grated to see them all still out there, flapping their gums on MSNBC.

He connected the dots, month after month and year after year, on his celebrated podcast better than any reporter in whatever pathetic remnant of the news media still exists. He remembered all the names (as he always reminded his audience to do). He saw how the whole treasonous saga played out from RussiaGate to Arthur Engoron’s malodorous courtroom and he knew exactly how all the pieces fit together. And the whole year he was at the FBI he kept his mouth shut out of a sense of duty.

Which leads you to wonder, what might Dan Bongino have to say now that he is out of the FBI inner sanctum? He had a year to sift through every document stashed in the J Edgar Hoover building, including, probably, a shit-load of incriminating memos and emails from the days of McCabe and Wray, all that stuff they found in the burn-bags. Did he have to sign some kind of non-disclosure document? Are there arcane regulations that we don’t know about constraining former FBI employees? Will his enemies - who are also enemies of the people - try to kill him now that he is on-the-loose?

I guess we’ll just have to stand by and see what happens with Dan Bongino, just as we have to stand by on where anything might go at Kash’s FBI and in Pam Bondi’s DOJ - and just about everybody in the public arena is piling on AG Pam Bondi these days. She’s in a tough spot. Can’t really bring any prosecutions in the hopelessly compromised, woked-up, DEI-infested, Trump-deranged DC federal court district - where so many treasonous crimes were committed. So, the work-around for that has been to tie all the ten years of treasons and seditious acts into one skein of a RICO case, allowing the DOJ to run a prosecution for all of it out of the Southern District of Florida, because that’s where one of the more recent crimes occurred in a chain of conspiracy: the unpredicated raid into Mar-a-Lago by Christopher Wray and prosecutor Jack Smith. It also works around various statute of limitation issues.

That case is underway, under Judge Aileen Cannon and prosecuting US Attorney Jason Reding Quiñones, but apparently will not go to the grand jury until sometime in the new year. So, you will just have to cool your jets a bit longer.

One other thing: will White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles do some ‘splainin’ about what possessed her to shoot her mouth off at Vanity Fair, one of the most out-front, scurrilous enemies of the president and his voters in all the mosh pits of Woke-gay-retarded journalism? She sat with their writers eleven times in 2025, and the result was a hit piece on the whole Trump White House. How does this square with everybody saying she’s the savviest Chief of Staff to ever haunt the West Wing? Can you figure how she doesn’t deserve to be fired for that?"

"Treason doth never prosper. What's the reason?
Why if it prosper, none dare call it treason."
