"If The High Cost Of Groceries Makes
You Feel Sick, You Are Not Alone"
"If you're sick and tired of abusive grocery price increases, you are not alone. In the past few months, a flood of consumer complaints have taken over social media, with thousands upon thousands of people absolutely shocked about how expensive the most basic food staples have gotten recently. So many consumers are stressed out of their minds with this situation. Many of them feel like a relief seems far from materializing, and in the meantime, they are drowning financially. Month after month, food prices just keep going higher, but officials continue to insist that everything is just fine. Needless to say, for most Americans everything is not just fine.
About a week ago, a TikTok user exposed just how insanely overpriced Walmart grocery products have become this year. In a video that has gone viral, the consumer shares his unpleasant experience when trying to reorder the same groceries he purchased two years ago at the retailer's store. The user explained that he hit the “Reorder All” button at the company's app to get the same basket of goods he bought in 2022. The initial order originally cost $126.67. He was shocked to find out that the exact same products today cost $414.39.
People were unsurprisingly stunned by his video, which garned more than one million views, and thousands of comments from other users expressing similar experiences of facing substantial price increases for the same goods. The TikToker (@sewerlidd) explained that the original $126.16 purchase was for a month’s worth of groceries, which included 53 items. “A whole month of groceries just for me,” he said in the video. The total was updated to $414.39, almost quadrupling. “I feel like I’m going to be sick,” he stressed. The online discussion led countless people to come forward and tell how disgusted they are about retailer's greedy tactics."
