"The New American Heating Fuel Crisis Has Landed"
"Heating fuel is running out, and families who heat with oil or propane are paying hundreds to thousands of dollars for a single fill. In this video, homeowners show the bills from their side: a $1,825 heating oil fill-up during record cold, a New England tank that went from $4.33 to $4.98 a gallon in one month, $1,000 of propane gone in two days with no heat again, a propane tank at zero on Christmas Eve with a six-month-old while the delivery never came, a 200-gallon oil fill in Michigan that cost $1,000 against $400 a year earlier, and a family holding the thermostat at 55 degrees after nearly $1,000 of propane in one month. We look at why heating oil and propane prices keep climbing, what it costs to keep a house warm, and how to cut the heating bill before the tank runs dry."
