Col. Douglas Macgregor, 8/10/26
"What’s Coming Is Bigger Than Ever"
"In this new interview, Colonel Douglas Macgregor argues that Iran has captured the strategic initiative and warns that the United States could respond by launching another major strike with its available bombers, aircraft, and precision munitions. Macgregor says the United States faces a serious munitions problem, arguing that stocks may have fallen to only 20 to 30 percent of what is needed. A 2023 CSIS war game similarly found that some US long-range precision-guided munitions could be exhausted in less than one week during a major conflict, while a 2026 CSIS assessment says the Iran war has significantly depleted some long-range missile stocks.
The discussion also examines Ukraine, where repeated drone strikes have damaged Russian refineries and disrupted energy infrastructure, while US intelligence and targeting support for Ukrainian deep strikes has been widely reported. Macgregor argues that the United States should leave the Gulf conflict rather than attempt to preserve global military dominance, while the interview's later conspiratorial explanations are rejected as unsupported, leaving the central question of military capacity, economic pressure, and escalation as the focus."
