Are Getting Worse As They Can’t Retire"
"So the job market in 2025 is an absolute mess, and the layoffs just aren't slowing down at all. But there's one angle I really want to dig into today, and that's what's happening to older workers specifically. Now look, I'm not saying younger people have it easy right now—everybody's struggling in this climate. But what I'm seeing is that companies are looking for any excuse to trim costs, and the easiest targets are the people who've been there the longest, making the highest salaries. Then once they're out, trying to get back in becomes this nightmare because you're competing against everyone, algorithms are screening you out, and on top of that, most of these folks can't just retire early. They need to work for another decade or more. The whole thing is honestly a disaster.
